Scouting Jones: Speedy outfielder who can cover the gaps in the outfield and put a lot of pressure on an opposing defense...above average running speed...will compete for the center field job.

2007: Started all 51 games, leading the team with 36 RBI...ranked third on the team with a .322 batting average and second with 12 doubles...scored 33 runs and stole a team-high 15 bases...one of the team's top clutch hitters, he led the team with 15 two-out RBI and a .383 average with runners in scoring position...had 10 bunt singles...picked up first hit with an RBI single against Auburn (2/24)...had two hits with two RBI and stole a base versus Jacksonville (2/25)...had a two-run double and scored twice against St. Joseph's (3/4)...smacked an RBI double and scored a run at Stetson (3/7)...had a two-run single and walked twice at South Florida (3/8)...went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI at South Florida (3/10)...had three hits - including a double - and scored three runs against Quinnipiac (3/11)...went 2-for-4 with two RBI, four stolen bases, and scored twice versus Concordia (3/24)...went 2-for-3 and walked twice at Bowling Green (3/28)...clubbed a three-run homer at Indiana (3/31)...had two doubles and a pair of RBI in the series finale at Indiana (4/1)...went 4-for-10 in three games against Purdue...went 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run versus Western Michigan (4/10)...went 2-for-5 and hit his first career triple against Penn State (4/16)...had 10-game hitting streak from April 25-May 8...had two hits and scored a run in series opener against Michigan (4/27)...went 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice in series finale versus Michigan (4/29)...collected a pair of hits - including a triple - at Ohio State (5/5)...had a three-run double and plated a run in series finale at Ohio State (5/6)...had career-best five hits, stole a base and scored two runs against Northwestern (5/11)...had two hits and scored twice in first game of doubleheader at Illinois (5/19)...went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI in second game of that same doubleheader.


Macomb Community College (2005, 2006): Played in 50 games in 2006, batting .383 with three homers, five doubles, 22 RBI and 64 hits...also stole 22 bases...named to All-MCCAA team and NJCAA Region 12 All-Tournament team...in 2005, he hit .345 with 19 hits and 10 RBI in 24 games to garner honorable mention All-MCCAA team accolades.

High School: Earned four letters for Coach Jose Jimenez at St. Clement High School...earned all-state, all-league and all-county honors in baseball...also lettered in football and basketball...named all-state two years in football.

Personal: Born April 26, 1986 in Mt. Clemens, Mich...son of Richard and Sue Jones...parks, recreation and tourism major...played for the Michigan Bulls of the Michigan Collegiate League in the summer of 2007...lists his dad as his biggest baseball influence.
