EAST LANSING, Mich. - Two Michigan State field hockey players were selected to the 2007 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I All-American Teams on Monday, Nov. 19. Sophomore Jeamie Deacon was named to the second team, while fellow sophomore Floor Rijpma earned third team honors. It is the eight time in MSU history that two players have earned All-America honors in a single season, with the last time coming in 2005.

Deacon was the offensive leader for the Spartans in 2007 scoring a team-leading 32 points on 12 goals and eight assists. Deacon received three Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors this fall, the most for any Spartan in a single season. She was also awarded First-Team All-Big Ten accolades at the 2007 Big Ten Tournament and was selected First-Team All-Region.

Rijpma tied for second on the team in points (31), tied for third in goals (12), and added seven assists on the year. She earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors and First-Team All-Region in 2007.

"They've worked really hard for it and they have the stats to back it up," said head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof. "We are proud of them and are very excited to have both of the girls coming back next season to help the 2008 team."

The Michigan State field hockey team went 16-6 on the year, tying for the fifth-most wins in a single season. They advanced the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in school history. MSU lost to No. 2 Wake Forest in the first round of the tournament, 3-2, on Nov. 10.
