BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to No. 25 Indiana, 6-1, on Friday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind. The Hoosiers controlled the match from the start, sweeping the doubles point from the Spartans, then took five out of six in singles action. Stephanie Kebler picked up her fifth-consecutive victory with a straight-set win over Katya Zapadalova, 6-3, 7-6 at No. 3.

In doubles action, Indiana's Zapadalova and Brianna Williams defeated Whitney Wilson and Christine Bader, 8-4 at No. 1. At No. 2, MSU's Ana Milosavljevic and Manon Noe fell to Alba Berdala and Lindsey Stuckey, 8-2, while Kebler and Lindsey Lonergan were taken out by Indiana's Myriam Sopel and Sigrid Fischer, 8-6, at No. 3.

The Hoosiers continued their strong play into singles, as MSU's No. 1 Bader lost to Berdala, 6-3, 6-1, while MSU's No. 3 Noe, dropped a close match to Charlotte Martin, 7-5, 7-5. At No. 4 Lonergan put up a three-set battle, but came up short against Indiana's Stuckey. 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. MSU's Milosavljevic fell at No. 5 to Williams, 6-2, 7-6, and Indiana's Sopel defeated Wilson, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 6.

"You have to take your hat off to Indiana, they were very sharp from the get go," said MSU head coach Erica Perkins. "They really took it to us in doubles, but I thought we rebounded well in singles and had a ton of chances down low. Indiana proved why they are a top 25 team, because they really stepped up on big points. Despite the loss, I am really excited about how our team is coming together and competing. We are looking forward to getting back on the court on Sunday against Ohio State."

MSU takes on Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday, March 30 at 11 a.m.
